A Professional Counseling Center

Cherami House Has a Rich History

Cherami House was built in 1928 for Faustina Nenno, the daughter of an important early settler in what is now Placentia. An original charter member of the Fullerton YWCA, Ms. Nenno later sold the house to the "Y" in 1946. In the 1960s the Y needed more space and added the annex now at the back of the house. The Y used the facility as a focal point for many community activities. Many of the local residence - young girls, mothers and grandmothers - have fond memories of happy times spent at the Y house as it was known. In 1999 the YWCA sold the property to Dr Jo Ann Brannock who renovated it as a professional counseling center.

In 2000 Dr Brannock received an award from the Fullerton Heritage Society for the outstanding renovation of a Fullerton Historical Building.
